ABOUT LETICIA

Leticia Bufoni has already cemented her place in skateboarding history as a six-time X Games Gold Medalist, SLS Super Crown champion, and five-time Guinness World Record holder and her impact on the sport goes far beyond her impressive accolades.

Recently, she made headlines by setting two world records at the 2021 X Games. Not only did she win her sixth gold medal in women's skateboarding street, but she also brought her overall Summer X Games medal count to twelve, making her the most decorated female Summer X Games athlete of all time.

Leticia's accomplishments extend far beyond the X Games. In 2020, she represented Brazil at the Tokyo Olympics ands also served as the first Executive Athlete Ambassador for World Skate (2017-2022), the governing body for skateboarding officially recognized by the International Olympic Committee.

It's no surprise that Forbes named Leticia one of "The Most Powerful Women in International Sports for 2018" and Sports Pro Media's list for "The World's Most Marketable Athletes for 2018.” In the same year, she was also named to the Forbes Brazil "Under 30" list.

Leticia's dominance in women's street skateboarding has been clear for over a decade. She was ranked the #1 women's street skateboarder by World Cup Skate four years in a row (2010 to 2013) and appeared in the Guinness Book of World Records for "Most Wins in World Cup Skateboarding." She was also named Brazil's Female Skater of the Year twice in 2009 and 2010.

2013 was a breakout year for Leticia, as she became the only female athlete to win three X Games Gold Medals in the same year. She was nominated for an ESPY Award for 2013 Best Female Action Sports Athlete and appeared in the prestigious ESPN Magazine - The Body Issue.

Leticia's impact on women's skateboarding extends beyond her athletic achievements, too. She appeared in the first-ever women's focused Nike SB video called "GIZMO" released in May 2019, inspiring a new generation of female skateboarders.

Leticia's journey to the top of the skateboarding world is a testament to her courage and determination. She moved from Sao Paulo, Brazil to Southern California at just 14 years old to compete at the X Games, and convinced her father to let her live with friends in the United States after landing her first sponsor. Leticia and her family knew that to be world-class, she had to be in the heart of the action. Their bravery and support have paid off, as she has been competing as a professional skateboarder ever since.

Leticia currently resides in Southern California and is fluent in three languages, including Portuguese, Spanish, and English. Her ability to connect with fans from around the world has helped to elevate the profile of skateboarding and has inspired countless young people to take up the sport.

In addition to her impressive skateboarding career, Leticia has also ventured into other sports in recent years, showcasing her incredible athleticism and versatility. She has taken up car racing, wakeboarding, and even skydiving, proving that her passion for pushing her limits extends far beyond the skatepark.
